Do You Need Health Care Coverage?

The Fishing Partnership Health Plan (FPHP) helps all fishing families obtain access to high quality affordable health care coverage.  We provide coverage directly to 2000 people in the fishing community, and we also assist many fishing families to access other programs and plans that best meet their health care needs.  The health care system is very complex and difficult to understand and navigate.  Nevertheless, health care reform in Massachusetts has made high quality affordable health care coverage available to just about everyone.  Our outreach coordinators are trained to provide up to date information regarding the many coverage plans and premium assistance options available to fishermen and their family members.  Contact the Massachusetts Fishermen’s Partnership toll-free at (888) 282-8816 to learn more.

How to Apply to the Fishing Partnership Health Plan

Massachusetts residents who earn 50% or more of their living from the Massachusetts fishing industry may be eligible to apply for membership in the Fishing Partnership Health Plan. New members may join during the open enrollment period or at other times if there is a recognized “qualifying event” such as the birth of a child or the loss of other coverage.
